Y'know, it occurs to me that if GTA was set in a different timesetting, it would not have garnered near the attention it has from the anti-VG community.

CONSIDER: You're in a hostile land, where you must gain land for your lord. you could buy weapons, but why bother. local ruffians also have them. you can kill them and steal thier weapons and currency. Body armor is available by taking it or buying it. and you must obtain a steed as well. Visiting the local barmaids help you heal. you must increase your stats to gain new skills. you take on missions from other lords as you gain in power and skill. Eventually you've bought all the castles and defeated all the enemy lords.

As good ol O.G. Loc would rap:
the middle ages were gangsta!

Guns instead of swords, BP vests instead of armor, and lowriders instead of horses. GTA=D&D. Yet no one shows Oblivion on the tube when they complain about violent games. I'm not trying to give the RPG'ers heck, but thanks for the idea of a modern day Oblivion. GTA wouldn't have been the same withoutcha!
