Ode to a Dorito Stain~
Dorito stain, Dorito stain,
Why are you here in my little plaid book?
It had such a clean look.
(Well until that last poem anyway)
And I had a good day so what they hay!?!
**************************
A row of stars to keep you company.
Bob likes Malibu Rum but I don't want any.
Dorito stain, Dorito stain,
So orange and greasy.
You think writing is so easy?
Dorito stain, Dorito stain!
You are cool!
An indellible mark,
But I'm no fool.
Immortalized on this night so dark.
You'll stay in my little plaid book,
There for anyone who wants to look.
Yeah, so I think I wrote this one in mid 1998. And this is why you don't drink and rhyme. Seriously. Anyway, the story is that I was freehanding in my book that I'd been copying my poetry into neatly, and made a mistake, had to scribble it out. So the inspiration hit, I rubbed my thumb in the Dorito crumbs I was munching on and planted a big greasy orange spot right in the middle of the page. This is one of my favorites. Tune in another time for some more oddity.
